As young business travellers, millennials are no longer focusing on looking for the cheapest deals or discounts through commercials or newspaper ads, but they’re surfing through Instagram or Facebook for “social media-worthy” hotel rooms. There is a preference in staying in the most luxurious hotel rooms, even though it means spending a little more. Young business travellers are taking advantage of business trips and they turn them into experiential vacations. The millennial way of hotel selection is influencing hospitality companies to restructure their marketing in brand new ways for the near future.
 

ASIAN MILLENNIALS VS WESTERN MILLENNIALS: A DIFFERENCE?
The majority of millennial travellers seek inspiring local experiences through their trips abroad. Although sharing the same prospects, there are differences between Western and Asian voyageurs. Based on a recent report led by Expedia this year, young Asian travellers hold more concerns when they travel compared to Westerners, in terms of decision-making for destinations or sources of information before taking off. However, in general, the East and the West still hold similar ambitions in their voyages.

There are criticisms about the instability of millennials in today’s society. They adore shifting jobs, moving to different cities and meeting new people through travels. The likes and dislikes of young people show their rejection of a stable future and this is a concern for the older generations because of its novelty. Critics comment on the disinterest of millennials in pursuing their career and the aimlessness of their future. Not settling down, isn’t a bad thing for our millennials today. In fact, their experiences bring benefits back to their workplaces. The interconnected world we live in enables young people to travel and acquire new experiences which cannot be taught through a textbook or in a lecture hall. It’s the experience of immersing into the unfamiliar and coming out with richer people skills.

Supported by The Coca-Cola Foundation, the 32nd Edition of #EntrepreneurshipSchool was affiliated with the Athens Democracy Forum, organised by the New York Times, which aimed to gather experts and tackle issues concerning democracy. This school focused on social entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurs who successfully integrated their visions into their start-up came to share their experiences and challenges. “PROof” is this year’s winner for the entrepreneurial competition. The aspiring team of entrepreneurs proposed an employee rating platform, which aims to eliminate unemployment. There was a great surprise from, Brian Smith, President of The Coca-Cola Company's Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Group, who came to congratulate our winners with great prizes and ended our school with encouraging words to all participants!

Boeing and ThinkYoung’s Coding Conference is coming up! During the discussion, we will present our efforts of the last two years of the #CodingSummerSchool as an innovative best practice for STEM and ICT education. In the presence of MEPs and experts from public and private sector, we will also discuss the importance of 21st century skills for the aerospace industry. STEM and ICT skills represent the future of the European economy and it is therefore vital that young people master them.
