Donate to the Keep It Fox
We are re-launching the 'Keep it Fox' Fund. The fund is aimed at ensuring Fox continues to provide its current outstanding provision in light of the budget cuts and increasing costs .  Please CLICK HERE  to see the attached letter providing more details about the fund and how you can make a voluntary contribution.

Keep it Fox will be used every year to fund expenditures that are above and beyond the provision of a normal Primary School. Currently Fox employs PE, music, dance, drama, art and specialist PE teachers. This is not financially sustainable and therefore in order to maintain these levels of provision, the school requires additional funds. The Keep it Fox fund will be used to support the payment of these and hopefully other costs.
Parent Table Tennis and Fitness with Mr Millet
We ran our taster fitness and table tennis sessions for parents and friends this week. We had 4 parents attend the fitness and 7 the table tennis. Mr Millet and all the attendees really enjoyed both sessions and said they would recommend to other parents and friends. In order to successfully run these sessions, we would need more parents to attend. We will offer 1 more free session this week and after that all sessions need to be booked in advance.

Parents are allowed to invite relatives and friends to the sessions. Again, if there are insufficient numbers booking onto the sessions we will be unable to run them. The booking system will open up during the half term holidays. Please use school gateway to book. If you have a friend you want to bring along, please speak to Michelle about how to pay for them.

Table Tennis: Thursdays 7.30- 9.00pm
Thursday 2nd November - Thursday 14th December - 7 sessions £70

Fitness: Tuesdays 7.30- 8.30pm
Tuesday 31st October - Tuesday 12th December £50

Ms Madden Recommends......

Ms Madden Recommends the graphic novel series, Olympians, written by George O’Connor, including ‘Zeus, King of the Gods’; ‘Athena, Grey-eyed Goddess’ and ‘Hera, The Goddess and her Glory’.

How much do you really know about the Olympians and ancient Greek myths? How did Zeus become king of the gods?  How did Medusa get her snake hair?  What really happened to Persephone in the underworld?
George O’Connor is a New York Times best-selling author and illustrator – who specialises in immaculately researched historical graphic novels.  ‘The Olympians’ weaves together many versions of the Greek myths and related tales of Olympian gods.  I imagine many parents and carers will buy or borrow these texts, seemingly for their child to read, and end up reading and re-reading them themselves, trying to make sense of the complex family tree, multiple names and tales that are present in so much of contemporary narrative culture.   These sophisticated texts are accessible to all of Key Stage 2, due to their comic strip format.  However, I think that pupils in Year 5 and Year 6, who already have some grounding in their knowledge of Greek mythology will get the most from them.  They are definitely texts to be read by parents and pupils alike…  I look forward to hearing your thoughts about them in the playground and on the gate.

Parents in Y1 up: We want your old Wellies!
We are in the process of developing our mud kitchen in Reception. To make best use of it (and avoid having muddy classrooms), we are asking for donations of wellies that would fit Reception-age children for us to keep outside - children's shoe sizes 7 to 12. We are still also in need of old kitchen items (saucepans, ladles, metal bowls etc.) Many thanks!

 Allotment equipment
We are also looking for some additional gardening equipment. If you have any old stainless steel trowels and or any adult sized forks, we would love for you to donate them to Fox School. Please drop in the School office if you have them.
Honey label competition winners
Thank you to all the children who submitted a honey pot label. We had hundreds of fantastic designs and the Head Girl and Boy had a difficult job picking 4 winners. The winning labels were designed by Ferdinand 1B, Daisy- 6M, Milo 4H and Skye 3B.
