It can cause someone to withdraw and become isolated; the effects of loneliness have the health impact of smoking 15 cigarettes a day, researchers have found.

The 6 FQHC’s with dental centers would be the most affordable, as they have the most generous sliding fee scale.

New Map Tool Shows Your Support System
The Atlas CareMap is a hand-drawn representation of a caregiver’s network and is one of the Practical Solution that emerged during the Pilot Study . It allowed our investigators to more easily ‘see’ all the people involved in a care ecosystem, and quickly became one of our most valuable tools. The CareMap illustrates the caregiver’s own support system, highlights what is working well, and often reveals duplication or gaps in care and resources.
Draw and use your own CareMap.

Changing the way we talk addiction is one of the most effective ways to reduce stigma, for more ways to reduce stigma check out SpeakUpNH.org. #SpeakUpNH
Many recent campaigns, including the Partnership for a Drug-Free NH's Speak Up campaign, have highlighted the importance of understanding the brain science of addiction. Although even the Office of the Surgeon General has called addiction a "chronic brain disease" in Facing Addiction in America: The Surgeon General’s Report on Alcohol, Drugs, and Health, many people unfamiliar with the complex biochemistry of substance use disorder still consider it a failure of willpower.
Watch and share this short video on substance use disorders or download the BDAS publication "Addiction: It's a Brain Thing," which describes the complexities of the brain in layman's terms.
If you would like hard copies of this brochure, please contact BDAS Health Promotion Advisor Randy Moser.
