We hope you've had a great summer! As we transition into the autumn season, we want to make sure we keep you up-to-date on all things Health eHeart-related. Our team has been working very hard, and we have some great news and highlights to share with you!
Our Executive Director of Clinical Research, Carol Maguire (pictured), presented some of our findings and provided research and technical solutions for other vendors. With your help, we have advanced further than any other company in attendance! We were also very excited to introduce our Eureka Mobile Research Platform.
Mission of Mercy (MOM) Study
As an update from our September newsletter, our collaboration with the University of Maryland's Mission of Mercy (MOM) Study was a great success! Our team is thrilled to have been a part of such an innovative and philanthropic event, and we look forward to continuing our partnership. Many thanks to Drs. Stephen Thomas and Susan Passmore for spearheading this collaboration!
In the two-day event, we recruited MOM attendees to learn about the social stressors (e.g. trauma and violence) they experience, as well as other factors that affect oral, mental, and heart health. Attendees were asked to complete MOM Study activities on their smartphones while they wait to be seen for dental services. Of the nearly 1,000 attendees at MOM, 24% had smartphones and were able to participate in our research.
Volunteers and community leaders continue to do tremendous work to service disadvantaged and minority groups to alleviate health disparities in our communities.
MOM is a non-profit organization that provides free medical and dental services to economically disadvantaged people — a group that may have high risk for periodontitis, mental, and heart health-related problems. Learn more about the Mission of Mercy!
