Dear Folks,
Welcome to Term 4!
I have three announcements to make regarding staffing, two positive and one with mixed emotions.
Firstly (the mixed emotions...), as some of you may be aware, Cindy Fox is moving on at the end of this year. Cindy has been with us for over a decade, and although we wish her well, and know that Cindy will always be a friend and colleague of the Con, we are sad to see her leave our teaching faculty.
There will be plenty of opportunities to wish her well throughout the term, and I know you will join me in doing so.
We would like to welcome Stefan Duwe to our Upper Strings Team. From 1992 Stefan worked with a number of orchestras in Germany, including the Folkwang Chamber Orchestra, Philharmonia Hungarica, Cologne Chamber Orchestra (Principal), Theater Nordhausen (Principal), Philharmonie Essen, Dusseldorfer Sinfoniker, Staatstheater Koblenz and the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Breme n.After immigrating to Australia in 2001, Stefan has recorded the 6th Brandenburg Concerto for the ABC and and has been regularly playing with the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra, the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra and many other ensembles. Since forming the Acacia Quartet he has turned his focus to chamber music and teaching.
Amy Denford has just started in the new role of Specialist Schools Music Teacher with us in Bathurst.
As a current accredited senior school music educator, Amy will be responsible for on the ground (and in the classroom) music education programs, school teacher mentoring and curriculum impact.
Amy will be working Thursdays and Fridays this term, and we welcome her as an important part of our schools team.
Again, welcome to Term 4, have a great one!
Graham
