Your Help is needed this Sunday
Right after the 10:30 a.m. service this Sunday, I am in need of people of all ages to participate in filming a short promotional video for our upcoming Congregational Retreat in January 2018.  It will involve a little “dancing” (using that word VERY loosely) and will only take about 15 minutes.  It WILL be fun and there are some surprise appearances.  Filming will take place in the Youth Room at approx. 11:35 a.m.  There will be donuts!  Questions?  Contact Jeremy

Book Circle Meeting - Monday, October 16

Congregational Meeting - Tuesday, October 17 at 7 p.m.
There will be a congregational meeting on Tuesday, October 17, at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary at St. Paul’s.  We will be looking at three issues:

  1. The Session would like to transition our Youth Intern position into a Youth Pastor position as Tyler Veltman has been doing the full work of a Youth Pastor.  With the congregation’s approval, Session would like to see this transition happen effective January 1, 2018.
  2. It has been suggested that the $100,000 from the Presbytery of Ottawa for the original purchase of the school be returned to the Presbytery with thanks from the proceeds of the sale of the school.
  3. The sanctuary renovations were over budget by $25,000.  The Session seeks to homologate (approve after the fact) the actions of the Board in increasing the budget.

NEW CHOIR MEMBERS WELCOME
Top Five Reasons to Join the Choir

5.  Rehearsals provide a relaxing couple of hours away from the grumpy spouse and wild kids.
4.  Let's face it--you might as well volunteer to sing since nobody's ever going to pay you for it.
3.  It's exactly like singing in the shower, except you're not naked and people are actually listening.
2.  If you are a bass or tenor, you are automatically a babe magnet.
1.  Choir members share fifty percent of the tip money earned by Patricia at her other more lucrative job as substitute organist at the Senator's games.

Out of the world's population, 4% die attending movies, 8% die eating in fast food restaurants, 10% die in home accidents, 10% die in lounges and taverns. 13% die in bars, 18% die from smoking, 47% die from accidents, misc., but only 1 out of 75 million people die in choir rehearsal! As you can see, staying out of the choir may be hazardous to your health!
Please visit our table in Campbell Hall after the service on October 15th.  Choir members are standing by to answer all your questions!

This event is for ANYONE (future parents, now parents, grandparents, spiritual parents, leaders etc.) who are concerned about the impact pornography is having on our culture (especially our children).

"Pornography exposure among young children is rampant, and most kids are caught off guard. Many parents need help knowing how to talk with their young children about pornography. It is truly becoming a public health crisis that requires action from parents, local leaders and government” protectyoungminds.org
