The 2nd Statewide Chinese School Competitions

Zee Cheng Khor Moral Uplifting Society Inc commends the work and contribution of all the community Chinese schools established decades ago to teach the Chinese language and culture that have benefited generations of Chinese students.

As a unique Moral Uplifting Movement in Australia, Zee Cheng Khor is honoured to take the lead in passing on the traditional Chinese Virtues of 孝、悌、忠、信、礼、义、廉、恥 and 仁、智 to the Victorian school students for the past two years through the Recital & Hand Writing Competitions in accordance to their age groups. Approximately 5,000 of them have taken part in these competitions each year.

The importance and cultural significance of this work can be explained from the speech of 周育江領事 Consul of the People's Republic of China,

Zee Cheng Khor Moral Uplifting Society Inc provides all cash prizes for the winning students and their teachers with additional prizes to be provided by Brillant Musical Instruments.

Eye Care Foundation provides participating students of Grades 1 to 3 with pencils to be used in the Hand Writing Competition.

In our work to preserve and promote the traditional Chinese culture to pass it to our younger generations so that they can be proud of their heritage, conduct themselves morally in their careers in business, profession and employment to play a positive and constructive role, and contribute to the prosperity and harmony of Australia!
 
To encourage your schools, children and teachers to be part of this annual event organised to benefit your children and the society,

To be part of the volunteer team to ensure these students are supported and provided with the best experience and full enjoyment at these Events to be remembered for the rest of their lives,

To ask for your financial support to establish an Education Fund to run these events to all the Chinese school students in Australia! An ambitious project that will only succeed with all your support.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE INAUGURAL CHINESE SCHOOLS COMPETITIONS
HELD 29/30 OCTOBER 2016
Zee Cheng Khor Moral Uplifting Society Inc sincerely thanks:

周育江僑务領事 Consul for Community Affairs, of the People's Republic of China, for his words of encouragements to the participating students in Victoria and us organizing this Event to pass on the traditional Chinese culture,

All the dedicated school teachers and principals, students and their committed parents for their contribution to the success of the Inaugural Chinese School Competitions. This Event could not have happened without all your contribution.

The joint organizers,sponsors local and the brotherhood of DEJIAO (
德教) from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, and the International Futian Charitable Organization (国际福田公益) and all the hardworking volunteers to give our Victorian students this magnificent platform and opportunity to improve their cultural understanding and increase their self confidence to perform in public with all the learning from their respective community Chinese schools.
STUDENT RECITAL COMPETITIONS.

130 students participated in the Recital competitions with the theme of "礼" or "Courtesy"! They performed confidently and shown little stage fright! Future orators, performers in the making!

With a panel of distinguished judges from the Confucius Institutes of Melbourne & La Trobe Universities, renowned broadcaster May HU OAM, JP, Scholar Stan Chang and Radio broadcaster Ms Liu, Each provided feedback and encouragements to the participating students. The winners were presented with their Award Certificates.
STUDENT HANDWRITING COMPETITION

126 grades 1 to 3 students took part in the handwriting competition and they were all doing their best to put their best handwriting forward to win one of the 9 prizes - 3 for each grade.

All participants were treated a great afternoon tea courtesy from the aunties and Jie Jie of the Zee Cheng Khor Moral Society Inc Women & Youth Groups and topped up with some fun from JanneJie Jie with a great song for all!

What an afternoon for these grade 1. 2 and 3 students! Hope the competition wasn't too much pressure for them and they will join us in 2017!
