An Urgent Call to Prayer

 Dear Friend,

If you haven't read the news, the crisis in Cameroon has gone from bad to worse.  Thousands have been imprisoned, and hundreds have died--in retaliation for speaking out against their government.

Back in March, we shared with you the social upheaval that has boiled over between the Cameroonian government and English-speaking Cameroonian protestors, resulting in an internet shutdown and mass censorship of the press. But now, the situation has escalated far beyond that.

The reports we are receiving are staggering, and many live in fear of being wrongfully imprisoned or killed.

Why haven't more of us heard about this? After a year, Cameroonians are still very limited in sharing their stories with the outside world due to internet shutdowns and mass censorship. The escalating situation has caught the attention of the U.S. in recent months, with a response in a recent press conference on October 4th.

Where is C-Life in all of this?  The work continues. Our 22 Servant Leader graduates are there, very close to the epicenter of this violence and fear in Buea, trying to be a light in the darkness with the new careers they have begun, with your recent help. And Cameroon needs the leadership of this new crop of Servant Leaders now more than ever.  Cameroon needs hope and the light of Christ that our work has brought into the country.

Why are you receiving this message? As a donor, we want to share with you the reality of the situation in Cameroon that is affecting the way our ministry operates and the very lives of our Servant Leaders, whom you helped recruit, train and launch.
We understand how important it is to continue to make you aware of why your investment in leadership in Cameroon-Africa, really matters.

What can you, a friend of C-Life here in the U.S., do? These Servant Leaders need us RIGHT NOW to stand in the gap for them in prayer while they face this immediate trial after their graduation.  Would you join us in praying for them?

WILL YOU PRAYERFULLY COMMIT TO...

1. ...Pray for the SAFETY of our Servant Leaders?  Our 22 graduates have already been launched in their communities. Pray that a hedge of protection be over them as they walk by faith, and not by sight (2 Cor 5:7)....as they attempt to continue in their businesses and careers, despite the violence and fear surrounding them.

2. ...Pray for the WISDOM of our Servant Leaders and other Cameroonian believers? We know that there is a time to stand up for justice, and a time to turn the other cheek and let God fight our battles for us. Please join us in prayer that all believing Cameroonians choose wisdom in every situation.

3. ...Pray for peace in Cameroon?

Thank you for making a difference -- not just with your dollars, but with your voice in prayer to Almighty God, who holds all things in His hands.

In His service,

Sheila Etonga, CEO

More coverage of current state of Cameroon:
The situation in Cameroon, like many other African countries, is due to lack of servant leaders. Cameroon is in grave need of servant leaders who will be role models, be accountable to the people and serve Cameroonians with integrity, excellence and a fear of God.
