Bikes - Reading Bike Kitchen will be joining us to fix bikes! 

There will be tea, coffee and cake, and everything is free.  Donations are always welcome to help keep Repair Cafe going.

Surf the Net and go green

ECOSIA is a search engine. So far, so good.
But if you are an environmentally conscious web user, you might be happy to know that this website donates 80% of advertising revenues toward environmental protection: specifically, a rainforest protection programme run by WWF. To date it has raised more than £1m.
ECOSIA is essentially a skin for a system powered by Bing and Yahoo. It was launched in 2009 and now receives about 15m searches a month. Join ECOSIA here.


 

Put the sun on the roof

Did you know that schools, colleges, offices, museums or even medical centres, factories and retail stores could go solar photo voltaic for free? It happens thanks to Reading Community Energy Society, a not for profit community based social enterprise. In 2016, as much as 12 buildings had solar photo voltaic panels installed, entirely funded by a public share offer that generated £300,000.
