Amanda's Story
October 24, 2017

“I am going to college and fight every day to keep my 4.0 to graduate next July with my Business Degree.  It’s not easy, especially when you are also taking care of a husband who is losing his eyesight and can’t drive when it's dark out, and who also suffers from PTSD and memory loss from a brain bleed after a car accident.

We rented a mobile home almost a year ago but after my husband’s health turned for the worse I knew if he could not work any longer I would not be able to afford all the bills on my own. I went and got my GED and started college right after.

There are not a lot of places that help people who are struggling when there are no children involved.  What we have I do a lot of bartering for so I can use our money for my husband’s medicines. It is summer time which also means I don't go outside much at all as I have rheumatoid arthritis.

Up till last year (before we lost our health insurance) I was on a medication. It helped with the arthritis, but I am not on it now so that we can pay for my husband’s medicine.

The box of clothing, toiletries, and blankets that you sent meant a lot to us. It shows there are people who still care and take the time.

Back to class I go; I will get my degree next July and find a job that will support us both.

Thank you for all you do."

The people we serve don’t ask for a new house or a car.  They ask for essentials to get them through a difficult time.

While providing material necessities, Mitzvah Circle Foundation also fills a basic human need for connection.

When we speak to the families we serve with compassion and kindness and deliver boxes of carefully-packed items that fill their specific needs we show people we care.

We give hope and dignity where it has been lost.

If you believe every person matters you can Volunteer or Donate.

We Need You.

With Gratitude,
