BUA NEWS AND NOTES
October 24, 2017
IN THIS ISSUE:
A Note from Victoria Perrone

It’s been a busy start of the year in Student Activities!  We kicked off the school year with the bowling outing for new students at Jillian’s.  Soon after, ninth and tenth graders piled onto buses to experience the wonders of Camp Burgess in Sandwich, MA for our annual three-day camping trip. Before we knew it, it was time for Fall Festival, which, believe it or not, marks the mid-point of the fall semester!

By this point in the school year, students have had their first test (or two), know their classroom routines, and are ready for a fun night to enjoy BUA’s vibrant community. Student Council’s Events Committee worked hard to make this year’s Fall Festival the best yet – and I’d say they did just that!

Last week, Student Council kicked off the fun with BUA Spirit Week: Pajama Day, Twin Day, Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Day, Meme Day, and BUA Colors Day.  This year’s Fall Festival activities included bracelet making, corn hole, spike ball, cupcake decorating, knock hockey, a bouncy house, a gaga pit, some basketball, and a bake-off judged by our very own celebrities: Dr. Harvey, Dr. Davis, and Mrs. Brown. After cheering on our BUA Terriers at Nickerson and filling up on burritos, students headed over to the dance to break it down to “Despacito.”

Thank you to all the parents who donated snacks and treats to keep the students going until sundown or volunteered to help manage events in the gym and at dinner.  This event wouldn’t have been such a success without your support! And of course, thank you to all the students who put a lot of time into planning, preparing, setting up, and cleaning up at each stage of Fall Festival. It was no small feat, and it didn’t go unnoticed. Now that the year is officially in full swing, I look forward to our next beloved event: Lock-In!

Best,
