News alert:
The Making Cities Work call has opened!

On October 24th the JPI Urban Europe call Making Cities Work opened for applicants. The call invites municipalities, businesses, researchers, civil society and other stakeholders to build transnational consortia to create challenge-driven innovation projects for European urban areas that have the potential to result in commercially successful services and products.

This call is tailored towards urban innovation projects, inviting the problem owners, such as cities, urban infrastructure operators or industry, to team up with science to jointly develop solutions for their pressing issues.

- It is about strengthening trans-disciplinary cooperation – finding, involving and connecting all those parties that are needed to address a particular issues and jointly develop solutions. We want to incentivise cities and other stakeholders in the urban field to participate says the call coordinator Colette Bos.

The goal is a challenge-driven approach with the problem owners in an active role in a transdisciplinary and trans-sectoral collaboration with active cooperation between all stakeholders throughout the project. The call wants to see projects with the aim of creating innovative solutions, getting to a proof of concept, demonstration, or test replicability and scalability.
