Thank you MPS Students, Parents, and Staff!
Do you recognize these MPS super stars? Like staff across the district, Mr. Pelzer and Mr. Hansen of Bethune Community School
say "yes" when it comes to doing what is good for kids, especially when it includes donning a super cool vest. These Bethune staff and students along with students, parents, and staff from the Whittier, Jefferson, and Lyndale school communities star in the Minnesota Crossing Guard Training, an online resource that helps build safe routes for children across the state. THANK YOU!

The Minneapolis Public Schools Safe Routes to School Strategic Action Plan is completed! The plan brings a focus on equity throughout all SRTS actions and in coordination among MPS, City, and Hennepin County staff. Together with our many partners we will work toward a vision where all students have opportunities to walk and bike, where communities are safe and connected, and where the beauty that Minneapolis offers is accessible to all.

Thank you to all who provided input and expertise.

Farm to School in the News

“We want [growers] to be partners with us, not just a vendor that we buy from. We believe really strongly in the value of a strong local food system.”

University of Minnesota wrote an article about our district's Farm to School Program and our partnership with the University of Minnesota Extension to provide our farmers with on-farm food safety training and support. Check it out!
