Invitation to an Event on Alcohol Policy at the European Parliament, 23rd November 2017, Brussels, Belgium.
Dear colleagues,
Europe has the highest rate of alcohol consumption per capita in the world. It also has the highest proportion of total ill health and premature death due to alcohol in the world.
Experts have known since 1988, when the International Agency for Research into Cancer (IARC) classified alcohol as a Group 1 carcinogen, that alcohol causes cancer. Alcohol consumption is associated with increased risk for several cancers, including digestive, bowel, liver, and breast cancers.
Please join us on the 23rd of November for a lunch debate, at the European Parliament, where we will be discussing the theme of this year's AWARH
"Alcohol and Cancer"
