Why I Support Local Artists
You will always see local art on display at Tara's Organic Ice Cream. As a young artist I found it really difficult and intimidating to approach galleries. I was told many times that my art did not fit within the style of the gallery. At TOIC I want to offer a space for artists to be seen and for the community to celebrate the diversity in art. I am not trying to maintain a certain style of art, but rather show all types of mediums and content.
I hope you will continue to show support for our talented local artists by purchasing their works, or at the very least, coming in to view them on display. Thank you!

Minnie Phan's Solo Exhibition, Evening Sun Starts November 2nd at TOIC Temescal
Minnie Phan is an illustrator, cartoonist, and all around busy bee. She specializes in children’s book illustration, and comics about personal experiences. She happily makes work that is colorful, thoughtful, and charming. Her work has been featured in galleries including Light Grey Art Lab, Anno Domini, SketchPad, and Studio Grand. When she isn't illustrating, she teaches comics to youth in the Bay Area. Learn more about her approach to teaching here.
