We have changed our name to emphasize our continuing commitment to reaching ALL
faith -based communities and empowering them to engage in active education and advocacy in order to advance mental wellness and suicide prevention. 


Our mission remains the same. Our passion remains the same. Our determination and persistence remains the same. 
 
 
Why do we exist?

Fact: 
Surveys find one-third of victims of suicide were attending church before their death, but few pastors knew of their struggle

Fact:
1 in 3 Protestant churchgoers are affected by suicide.

Fact:
 Studies found three-quarters (76 percent) of churchgoers say suicide is a problem that needs to be addressed in their community.

Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the US for all ages. (CDC)  Over 44,000 people die by suicide each year in the US compared  to 16,000 homicides. 

Fact:

There is one death by suicide in the US every 12 minutes. (CDC)

Fact:

Depression affects 20-25% of Americans ages 18+ in a given year. (CDC)

Fact:

Only half of all Americans experiencing an episode of major depression receive treatment. (NAMI)
