The Building an Affordable Austin Bus Tour is around the corner but there's still time to reserve your seat. Join HousingWorks Austin and Diane Land, Austin's First Lady on a freetour of affordable housing in Austin this Friday, October 27, 2017. We'll take an up close look at housing communities that grew out of Austin's vision and efforts to leverage private dollars to stretch our investment in affordable housing bonds, invest existing resources to expand our affordable housing stock and to preserve market affordable housing. They include:
Aldrich 51;
Wildflower Terrace;
M Station Apartments;
Chestnut Commons;
Guadalupe Saldana Subdivision, including Jeremiah Program;
The Works at Pleasant Valley;
Lexington Hills, and
RBJ Center.
The tour will begin at 8:30 am in the Community Room/Lounge of Aldrich 51, a new affordable apartment community in the Mueller Development. We'll have breakfast from Torchy's Tacos and coffee (thank you Greg Weaver/Catellus for the in-kind donation), and a 30-minute presentation. We will then get on the bus for the tour. We will be back at Aldrich 51 at 11:30 am. Aldrich 51/DMA Companies VP Janine Sisak will be available after the tour for those who want to view some of their newly developed units.
