A Farewell to Art: Chagall, Shakespeare and Prospero features, for the first time in the UK, a limited edition of 50 lithographs created by Chagall for the André Sauret portfolio of The Tempest in 1975.
Professor Scolnicov is a renowned scholar on both Shakespeare and Chagall and brings her own distinctive interpretation to Chagall's visual and unique representations. She is Professor emerita of Theatre Studies and former Head of the School of Graduate Studies of the Faculty of Arts at Tel-Aviv University, and Life Member of Clare Hall, Cambridge. She has published books and essays, in English and Hebrew, on Adam de la Halle, Shakespeare, Jonson, Stoppard, Pinter and Chagall. Her writing focuses on the relationship between word and visual image.
