Dear <<First Name>>,

We're in week two of our Harvest School!
Two things became very real in these two weeks:

1) The Mozambican heat is not for the faint of heart. Water runs from your body, just because you breathe.
2) RICE AND BEANS! RICE AND BEANS!! Jip, we're learning to love rice and beans, as this is our meal, every single day!

I'm so thankful to be trained with 230 other students that has the same passion for Jesus as I have. We represent 53 different nations of which 4 is South African.

Over the years, I've met many people, that loves Jesus, but is not willing to lay down their entire life down before Him. That believes it's their right to have everything that their hearts desire without a willingness to lay everything down before God. The students that is in class with me, as passionate laid-down lovers of Jesus. Many of them have already sold everything, given everything they own away and are ready to go to the nations to reach the lost. I'm so touched by their zeal in seeking the face of Jesus. More than their zeal, I'm inspired by how our trainers have laid-down their lives.

We've been into the villages and carried food to starving people. These "mama's" biggest honour, was that we were spending time with them and praying in their mud houses. To get to the mud houses, we walked through a dump where children play as if it's the most luxurious playground. It's heartbreaking to witness such poverty. No person should be subject to living life from a dump!

Worship has changed so much for me. Our 2nd day, we had a 7 hour worship session. High praises, no breaks, just hunger to seek Jesus' face.

Church is done in 3 languages. It's such an interesting experience. But people worshiping together, in high praises, people sweat like mad. You know, black and white sweat smells the same. I've realised that here is no place for the demon of race preferences, we're all sons and daughters of God. To Him we all look the same!

We are continually confronted with what we really believe! Are we looking after our bodies? Will it be able to carry us to the ends of the earth to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ?

Rolland Baker has this way of asking very simple questions, yet you find yourself looking for answers for the next few days.

Some things like, what do you really believe about the sovereignty of God?
Do you really believe that He will never override someone's freewill?... Really... How about Saul on his way to Damascus? Do we really think it was Saul's will that brought him to Jesus' face that day?

If God is good; we should never face hardships and always have favour were we go, right? Really... How about John 15:19 "If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world." Or have you considered Stephen that was stoned to death for being a believer?

Do we seek Jesus as the prize and get to know Him in the midst of trails and tribulations. Is he really our Joy?

Is He not the ultimate goodness of God? Is His love not the ultimate prize that we can surrender our lives to, daily?

I'll post pictures of our experiences once I'm back in South Africa, as trying to send the newsletters from my phone, proves to be a greater challenge than initially thought.

Please keep praying for us. We can't do what we do, if the body of Christ is not praying for us. Please keep praying for me, as I'm desperate to encounter the presence of the Loving God even more!

All the best,

Xenia Swanepoel
