Road Safety Assembly

Penny Taberman, the Accident Prevention Project Officer from London Borough of Barking and Dagenham came to deliver a whole school interactive assembly on Road Safety last Monday, which was aimed at young teenagers. Students were told anecdotes of people who had been in accidents for not looking carefully before crossing and were given advice on how to cross roads safely. They were shown pictures on a PowerPoint presentation and were asked to identify hazards, i.e people crossing whilst looking at their phones, or wearing headphones etc. She finished off with two words for everyone: Arrive Alive!
Students found the assembly beneficial, as one girl in year 10 stated afterwards, 'The assembly showed me the importance of health and safety for a teenager nowadays.'
School Trips this term

This term, we had two amazing trips that our students visited. The year 7s, 8s and 9s visited Legoland on the 17th of October 2017 where they had fun on the rides but also took part in a Lego Robotics Workshop. They were asked to program a robot to complete numerous tasks and mashaAllah, feedback from the students and the tutor in Legoland was positive and outstanding!
We apologise for the late return of our students that day. Please note that generally we do endeavour to give accurate times, as much as possible, but delays take place as a result of traffic conditions.

The older students in year 10 and 11 went on a educational visit to Kew Gardens, where they explored the Treetop Walkway, The Hive and enjoyed the Japanese landscape. They also took part in a workshop that tested their scientific knowledge on plants!

Hadith of the Month

Umar RA said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) saying: “If you all depend on Allah with due reliance, He would certainly give you provision as He gives it to birds who go forth hungry in the morning and return with full belly at dusk”.
