This summer, an international team including several members of iREx has published new observations of the giant exoplanet 51 Eridani b that provide a better understanding of the planet's atmosphere and the way it was formed.

The prestigious prize, attributed since 1953 in honour of Urgel Archambault (founding director of Polytechnique Montréal), is awarded to a scientist to recognize the excellence and influence of his or her work and actions.

JWST news

JWST to be launched in Spring 2019

NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope is now planning to launch between March and June 2019 from French Guiana, according to a new timeline published in September. Previously, Webb was suppose to launch in October 2018.

Echoes from our Solar System

Haumea has a ring

Haumea, one of the five Solar system's dwarf planets, was recently found to have a ring. This discovery, announced in the journal Nature, could indicate that this kind of feature, originally thought to only occur around giant planets, is more widespread.
