HANT Bulletin: October 2017

HANT’s campaign has been active since the last bulletin in August with letters to the press, public meeting in Findhorn, a stall at the Inverness College UHI Students’ Fayre, regular Committee meeting by Skype and preparing for our next public event – a film screening of the film “Countdown to Zero” to be shown at Muir Hub in Muir of Ord on the evening of Wednesday 8 November 2017 at 7.30 pm : Wednesday 8 November 2017 at 7.30 pm at Muir Hub (Great N Rd, Muir of Ord, IV6 7UA)

Everyone welcome – come along to watch “Countdown to Zerø” and hear about HANT’s campaign to stop the transport of nuclear waste by sea, rail and air from Dounreay to Sellafield.

The film “Countdown to Zerø” is a 2010 documentary film by British filmmaker Lucy Walker. The film argues that the likelihood of the use of nuclear weapons has increased since the end of the Cold War due to terrorism, nuclear proliferation, theft of nuclear materials and weapons, and other factors.

HANT will make available copies of a CND Briefing Paper entitled “The links between nuclear power and nuclear weapons” which highlights how civil and military nuclear are inextricably linked.

Refreshments will be provided.
