We are absolutely delighted to announce that Tex, Don and Charlie will be performing two magnificent, spine tingling concerts at the 2018 Port Fairy Folk Festival. After a sold out tour in 2017 and their album You Don't Know Lonely receiving rave reviews, Port Fairy is the perfect place to be captivated by their evocative performances and listen to the masters of storytelling in song. They will also perform songs from their spectacular 1993 debut Sad But True which is regarded as one of the great Australian albums ever released, and 2005’s All Is Forgiven. Joining them on stage are Garrett Costigan (pedal steel guitar), Stephen Hadley (double bass) and Angus Agars (drums).

Spotlight Sessions Shine: second show announced with Marcia Howard, The Ahern Brothers & Mission Songs Project
The inaugural Port Fairy Folk Festival Spotlight Session was held on Friday 20 October and was an outstanding night of conversation, music and collaboration with Mick Thomas, Ayleen O’Hanlon, John Bedgegood, Declan O’Rourke, Barb Waters, Kerri Simpson and Jamie McKew.
The Port Fairy Folk Festival and Memo Music Hall are delighted to announce the second session in the series, featuring the 2016 Port Fairy Folk Festival Artist of The Year Marcia Howard, The Mission Songs Project with Jessie Lloyd, Emma Donovan and Jessica Hitchcock who wowed audiences in 2017; and The Ahern Brothers who are set to take to the festival stages in 2018.
“These sessions are an absolute delight, Friday night was just wonderful, the attentive audience, the beautiful music, and the conversations, and to end with all artists on stage signing together really was something special,” said Jamie McKew.

Regional Victorian Artist Applications Close 29 October
Port Fairy Folk Festival in partnership with ABC Radio would love to hear from regional Victorian artists. Now is the time to throw your cap in the ring to win the chance to perform at the 2018 Festival. (Of course the lucky winner will also be paid!)

The competition is open to any artist or band based in regional Victoria, as long as you are unsigned, independent and make great music! To enter, start a profile at triple j Unearthed, upload one or more songs and include the hashtag #PFFF (for Port Fairy Folk Festival) in the name of the song.
