2017 Racing Season Comes to a Close
The 2017 racing season had a little bit of everything. The season started with cold, wet, flooded conditions. As the summer progressed, we had many perfect race days. The 90 Miler was a bit cooler than years past, but the late season races made up for it with above average temps and plenty of sunshine. In July we had a preview race on the 2018 USCA nationals course. This race will now happen annually as the New York State Canoe/Kayak Championships and this year will again serve as a preview of the 2018 nationals. We had a series of NYMCRA sponsored sprint races held at various point races during the year. These were a lot of fun and provided many paddlers a chance to win a little extra cash and the opportunity to paddle with different partners. Now it's time to recover and plan for the 2018 season. We will continue to have newsletters throughout the off season with features on training and hights from the past season. If there is anything you'd specifically like to see in the upcoming newsletters, please let us know!
