Greetings from O'Brien Guitars

2017 is quickly coming to an end. I can't believe we are already at the end of October! This past week a student finished his guitar in a private class with me. We went from a box of materials to a finished playable guitar in six days! That makes student number 14 so far this year. However, four more students are still scheduled to come and build their guitars at the O'Brien Guitars workshop in one on one classes before the end of the year!

Next year's schedule is already shaping up to be busier than this year! I will be releasing my 2018 teaching schedule in the very near future. There will be some surprises and fantastic learning opportunities in the coming year. One of them is that Australian luthier, Trevor Gore, will be returning to offer his popular modal tuning class again. This class was very successful this year and filled very quickly.

Another surprise is that Spanish luthier, Paco Chorobo will be coming to the O'Brien Guitars workshop to offer a Flamenco guitar building course. This is a rare opportunity to learn how to build a Flamenco guitar in the traditional Spanish method of construction. I have not officially announced these classes yet and there is already a number of folks that have contacted me asking about them trying to get on the list of participants.
In you are interested in taking one of my private building classes then please let me know. I only have a couple of spots left in my 2018 schedule.
As we enter the cold Winter months please do not forget to humidify your guitars. I have a steady stream of repair work come into my shop due to lack of humidification.
