Austin ISD Bond Election
Early voting ends Friday; Election Day is next Tuesday

Please  go out and vote this week. This important election will be decided by only 10 percent of voters. You have until this Friday, Nov. 3 to vote early. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 7. The AISD bond is "Proposition A" and is the last item on the ballot. Summitt PTA has voted to support this bond election. 

The bond package is for more than $1 billion. The schools that feed to Anderson High School (which includes Summitt and Murchison) will receive more than $100 million from that package, so all the schools our children attend will get improvements. According to Austin ISD, the tax rate we pay for the District will not increase, and our neighbors over the age of 65 who have homestead exemptions will not see an increase in their taxes. If passed, the money Austin ISD receives from the bond package will not be subjected to the Recapture (Robin Hood) system, so everything stays in our community.
