Dia de los Muertos Celebrations at the Adobe!
This past weekend we had a successful event celebrating Dia de los Muertos. The park was lit up by candlelight, we decorated sugar skulls, made papel picado and other fun crafts for the kids.  The Adobe altar will be up all week, so please come by and view our tribute to the actual holiday which is November 1 & 2.

Naturalist's Feature

Did you know the Calaveras fault runs right next to Alviso Adobe community park? Actually, most of Foothill Road follows the path of the fault line. According to bay area seismologists, there is a 99% chance of a major earthquake happening in the bay area in the next 30 years. Luckily, the Calaveras fault has a lower probability than some of the other faults, but a major earthquake will still impact the community of Pleasanton. If you live in Pleasanton, stay safe by making an emergency plan with your family in the case of an earthquake. Where will you meet? How will you get in contact with one another? It’s also a good idea to create an emergency preparedness kit to keep in your home or in a safe place to be prepared. SF72.org recommends gathering enough supplies to live off of for 72 hours, or 3 days. For a head start on essential supplies to gather, check out SF72.org or 2stepsamonth.wordpress.com.
