AOFYE Excellence Awards
Nominations due Monday, November 20
AOFYE seeks to recognize the outstanding contributions of ACPA members in the areas of Admissions, Orientation, and First-Year Experience. The nomination criteria and award details can be found on AOFYE's website.

AOFYE/ NRC Grant Proposals
Proposals due Friday, November 17
In 2018, AOFYE and the National Resource Center for the First-Year Experience and Students in Transition (NRC) will be partnering again in awarding a research grant to researchers who are conducting research in the fields of admissions, orientation, and the first-year experience. The AOFYE/NRC Research Grant supports and promotes research with the potential to have a national impact on student success. AOFYE and the NRC will jointly award one grant in the amount of $750 to promote original, descriptive, or evaluative research; philosophical studies; or institutional assessment or evaluation on issues surrounding admissions, orientation, and/or the first-year experience. The award package also includes formal recognition at the 2018 ACPA Convention in Houston, Texas. Scholars from around the globe are invited to submit applications for this grant.  Grant applications should be submitted by 11:59 p.m. EST, Nov. 17, 2017.  More information and the submission form can be found here.

AOFYE Presents the 2017 AOFYE/NRC Grant Recipient
Featuring Nina Daoud
Last month, Nina Daoud, the winner of the 2017 research grant that is co-sponsored by the Commission for Admissions, Orientation, and First-Year Experience and the National Resource Center for the First-Year Experience and Students in Transition, presented her research.  Nina's research focuses on the experiences of Black Muslim women in college as they navigate their racial, religious, and gender identities in today's social context.
