Last month, I was very busy with wedding preparations, and I did not prepare anything for the monthly prayer effort. Sorry! It's time to get back to it now.

November's Prayer Points:
--Abandoned Baby in Wanchai
--Walk the Wall with International China Concern
--40 Days for Life 2018 campaign

Abandoned Baby
This week, I read in the news about this mother and her baby: scmp.com/news/hong-kong/law-crime/article/2116172/woman-arrested-after-second-baby-found-abandoned-hong-kong.

Earlier this year, a church in Wanchai had provided extraordinary assistance for this mother and baby, and many people were willing to help them in any way necessary. Sadly, on October 19, the mother abandoned her baby on Wanchai Road. She was arrested, and is now likely in jail, and we don't know where her child has been placed. He doesn't have any papers or legal identity yet, so please pray for the workers who handle his case to be skilled and loving people.

This is all heartbreaking. But at the same time, it might be the best place for both of them to start new lives. Please pray for this precious mother and her son!

There are so many women who are stuck in the sex trade in Wanchai. Most who are pregnant will get an abortion. There is no easy solution--pray that God will break into the darkness of the sex trade, and bring freedom and life where there is oppression and death.

Walk the Wall
International China Concern (ICC) does an annual fundraiser in Hong Kong, to support their centres in Mainland China, where they care for several hundred abandoned and disabled children.

I prayed about joining this year, and I think I'm supposed to do it! Please pray for me to prepare well, and that this organisation will be abundantly blessed and provided for, to do their amazing work in China.

40 Days for Life (Planning for 2018)
Last night (October 31) was a "pre-meeting" for next year's 40 Days for Life. I shared about the impact 40 Days for Life has already had on the pro-life movement in Hong Kong and in Greater China. We discussed and prayed about next year's campaign.

Honestly, I'm still not sure if we will do it, because we haven't found enough people to take the roles needed for a really successful campaign. (A successful campaign needs the involvement of dozens of churches and hundreds of volunteers.) Please pray that God gives us all clear direction about whether and how to proceed.

We met in Our Lady of Mount Carmel (Catholic) Church, the first church community in Wanchai. Even before the church building was built, the Catholic community in Wanchai had homes for abandoned children.

Let's pray for families in Hong Kong to be strong, and also to welcome and support those most in need--and especially in Wanchai, the historical centre of Hong Kong's sex trade and abortion industry.
