October 2017 Recap

A big THANK YOU to everyone who came out to support the 5th Annual/Final Noodles for Nippon: Udon Fundraiser for Children in Fukushima of Friends of Fukushima SF! We were glad to be a part of this event again, where we got to make lots of udon and tempura for everyone to enjoy.

It was great working together with other volunteers and having a big turnout! In the end, a professor at UC Davis spoke about the Japan Children's Home Internship Program (JCHIP) of which 堀川愛生園 - Horikawa Aiseien is one of the children's homes in Japan where students intern at every summer.

Just as they have in previous years, all proceeds and donations are going to this children's home to help them repay their loans from rebuilding the home after the March 11, 2011 earthquake and tsunami. Otsukaresamadeshita!

Nakayoshi split into two teams and raced to get out of a hay maze in Half Moon Bay. The team with Steven, Natsumi and Andrew won! As the sun set on a beautiful fall day, we ended the evening over at a seaside brewery for burgers and beers.
