Through the BloodTechNet award, Canadian Blood Services supports the development of innovative educational projects that network the Transfusion, Cellular Therapy and Transplantation communities in Canada. These projects deliver educational tools and resources that support the development of skills, knowledge and expertise of the health professionals in this network.

Graduate Fellowship Program

Canadian Blood Services Graduate Fellowship Program provides stipend support for young investigators who want to initiate or continue training in the field of transfusion science. Graduate students undertaking full-time research training in a Canadian institution are invited to apply.

James Kreppner Award

The James Kreppner Award program supports legal research relevant to Canadian Blood Services. Research priorities for the James Kreppner Award include the legal and regulatory aspects of (a) donation, collection, storage, and use of blood, blood products, and hematopoietic stem cells; and (b) organ and tissue donation and transplantation.

Blood Efficiency Accelerator Award Program

The objective of the Blood Efficiency Accelerator Award Program is to improve the efficient and appropriate utilization of blood products, while maintaining the safety of the blood system. To achieve this objective, the Program will support innovative research projects that seek new knowledge or accelerate the application of existing knowledge.
