Handel's Messiah Conerts are this Weekend Tickets are Going Fast
Tickets to Chicago Master Singers' upcoming performances of Handel's Messiah are selling fast. Tickets are still available, but advance purchase is recommended to obtain choice seats. Chicago Master Singers will perform the complete Messiah with the Ars Viva Orchestra under the direction of Alan Heatherington this Friday, November 3, at 7:30 pm and Sunday, November 5, at 7:00 pm at the Divine Word Chapel in Techny (Northbrook), Illinois. Vocal soloists will be soprano Michelle Areyzaga, mezzo-soprano Sarah Ponder, tenor Klaus Georg and bass-baritone Gerard Sundberg. A free pre-concert lecture by vocalist, conductor and music scholar Kurt Hansen will begin one hour before each performance.
Handel’s Messiah is one of the most popular works in Western choral music. It is no surprise that this performance by the acclaimed chorus of 100 voices with its award-winning music director is among the most anticipated classical music events this fall.
