ONE COMBINED WORSHIP SERVICE SUNDAY, NOV. 5 at 10:30am in our Sanctuary.  We are blessed to have Missionaries from the Congo, Rev. Dr. Jonathan Baker and Ms. Donna Baker, and Dr. Adolphe Yamba Yamba leading this Sunday's worship service. Lunch will be provided following our service and we'll hear more from our missionaries during that special time.

YOUR HELP NEEDED - CHURCH WORKDAY TOMORROW  The Anchor Small Group is sponsoring a church workday on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 9am-12pm.  Beverages and snacks will be provided.  Bring your wheelbarrows, shovels, rakes, and buckets for a special time with your Biltmore family beautifying our grounds!  We'll have lots of mulch to spread!
PS:  We have a private group using the Events Center all day tomorrow.  Refreshments will be provided in the church commons.

CHARGE CONFERENCE will be held for our church on Tuesday, Nov. 7 at 6pm in the Events Center.  Come celebrate the awesome things that God is doing in our church and our sister churches in the Blue Ridge District's southern Asheville churches.

UMW MEETING SUNDAY, NOV. 12 at 12:15pm in the Events Center.  Bring a bag lunch and join us!     Also, our UMW are collecting items for Christmas for the Swannanoa Correctional Center for Women.  We need coloring books and crayons, notecards, envelopes, calendars, and composition notebooks (no spiral wires).  Please bring donated items to church by Wednesday, Nov. 8.

FREE SUPERCONCERT NOV. 19 - CHUCK TAFT DIRECTING

Sunday, Nov. 19 @ 3 pm at First Presbyterian Church - Asheville
While I Still Have Breath celebrates the embrace of aging with our heads held high, our eyes
wide open, and eager to see what new opportunities are just around the next corner. Whether singing with full fanfares in Fanfare for a Festival, quiet petitions in Borning Cry, or bold statements of action in We Shall Overcome, we sing as if our life depends upon it - because it does.  Listener and performer alike will journey together with both ancient and contemporary texts, musically pointing towards a time when, as the final song of the program proclaims: All Shall Be Amen and Alleluia!
The Reuter Center Singers join with the Givens Estates Vesper Choir and the Biltmore United Methodist Church Choir to sing songs spanning four centuries.  Under the direction of our own Chuck Taft, the combined effort of over 120 singers will be accompanied by brass, cello, flute, percussion, piano and pipe organ.
Open to the Public - Free Admission - Donations Welcome - Reception Following

BUMC SMALL GROUPS ARE THRIVING

Thanks to prayers, participation, and small group leaders, we now have an amazing number of small groups which meet on a regular basis; and we’d like to add one more.  Please celebrate with us:
  •  9 groups meet weekly or bimonthly to share their lives with each other! (40-50 people)       (Papa’s Princesses, Jesus & Beer, 2 Women’s Emmaus Reunion Groups, Crafters for Christ, ‘N Rapport, Men’s Emmaus Group, Men’s Downtown Lunch Group, and Anchor Service Group)
  • 3 groups meet regularly to enjoy special interests together and to strengthen relationships through fellowship. (70-75 people)  (GEMS!, Movies and More, and Family Fun Time)
  • 3 groups are offered weekly in our Thursday Recovery Program  (Chemical Dependency Recovery Group, and 2 Life Hurts Recovery Groups)
We want to start at least one more regular group this year; it can meet weekly, bi-monthly, or monthly.  It can grow from any idea, need, or interest.  We just need a leader/organizer and an idea with a date and time for meeting, and Anita will help make the group a reality.

Please check out the groups that have formed to see if you would like to join one of them, or let Anita know if you want to help form a new group!
(ageasayles@gmail.com; 828-216-6591).

BLESSINGS!  Tommy and Teresa Buckner have given a donation to the Endowment Fund in honor of Bess Redmond and in memory of her husband Tommy Redmond.

A FEW MORE HOSTS NEEDED!  We have an amazing opportunity for Lee University’s “Ladies of Lee Chorus” to perform at BUMC on Saturday, Nov. 11.  We are hosting 60 college ladies in our homes for the night and still need a few more places for them to sleep.  If you can host one or more students in your home (on a couch, an air mattress or in a bed), please find the sign up sheet in our lobby.    ALSO, ALL are invited to bring sharable breakfast /brunch items to “break bread”  with our day’s guests on Sunday morning.

CHRISTMAS IS COMING!?!
We probably all prefer to enjoy each special occasion as it comes, but this year we need to plan a little Christmas now, even before Thanksgiving (so sorry!).  SART is performing Sander’s Family Christmas, part 2 of the Smoke on the Mountain Trilogy.
Performances will run 2 weeks, Dec. 14-23. Thursday- Saturday at 7:30pm, and matinees on both Saturdays and Sunday at 2:30pm.  Tickets are $25 (with taxes and fee), and $20 for groups of 10 or more (with taxes and fee).  We are hoping to go as a group to the only Sunday matinee, which is on Dec. 17, at 2:30pm.  (Gerry and Margaret are driving the van for us!)  Tickets are on sale already and are going quickly for this first weekend.  If we are going to buy group tickets, Anita needs to hear from you now.  Of course, we can all choose our own time to go and purchase our tickets at www.sartplays.org. Hopefully, though, we can enjoy the play together on Dec. 17.  Please let Anita know if you are interested, so a group rate can be reserved. Merry Thanksoweenmas!

NEED PRAYER?

Please send all prayer requests to Barb Korb at barbarakorb@yahoo.com
We are here to pray for you!

BILTMOREUMC'S PRAYER TEAM assembles every Tuesday at noon to pray for the needs of our church and our community.  We meet in the Prayer Room upstairs (right beside the elevator on Level 3),  and we end by 12:30pm.

LET IT BE, CHRISTMAS
Yes, it is that time of the year – time to prepare for the season we celebrate the birth of Christ. You will clap, laugh, sing-a-long, and join in a hushed silence as the awe of the Nativity is presented in a most unexpected way.  There are many opportunities for you to volunteer your time to help make this powerful service available for many to see.
  • The cast and crew will have a Tech and Dress Rehearsal (Sunday, Nov. 26) – it will be a long afternoon/evening as final “tweaks” are done to make this service its very best. With that said, we need to feed this hard-working crew! Snacks, drinks, dinner will be greatly appreciated and much-needed!
  • A reception will be held immediately following the first service on Wednesday, Nov. 29 in our Events Center. We need volunteers willing to coordinate, set-up, line up food for this event.
  • We need a team of people to be responsible for set-up and tear-down of the set as we move from one location to another. Whether you are available for each time or one evening – your help welcome and appreciated!

OUTREACH TEAM is responsible for "Fun & Fellowship" this Sunday in the Events Center.  Thank you for all you do to make our Sunday mornings more fun!
