NYE supper club - book early

My visit to Comté in July this year was a splendidly cheesy entrée to the region. Pretty much everyone I speak to says: 'That's my favourite cheese'. It makes fantastically gooey, oozy cheese fondue, with a splash of vin jaune, another speciality from the region. And truly a supper club is the cosiest nicest way to spend New Year's Eve.
Date: 31/12/17
Time: 20.30 till after midnight
Food: Comté and other wintery French goodies.
Wine: Champagne cocktail on arrival and feel free to BYO or order from winetrust100 sparkling wine collection to be delivered directly here.

  • I went to Ghent. One of the most beautiful cities I have ever visited. They also have something called 'Veggie Thursdays' when all government departments, schools, universities, prisons, canteens eat vegetarian.
  • I was interviewed for BBC Radio 4's The Food Programme talking about 'eating with strangers'. Listen to it here.
  • My supper club with The Curry Guy sold out. It was a huge success. Got a great tip from Dan - if you want to have fresh curry leaves, wash them well with lots of water then freeze. This way they won't turn black. 
Microbiome porridge
Yes there is such a thing as the World Porridge Championships and I went up to Scotland for it. Read my report on the Golden Spurtle. Guess what, a Scotsman didn't win!
michael Gove vegan
I cooked a private vegan supper club for Michael Gove, Minister for food, farming and the environment. He and his wife Sarah Vine seemed to enjoy it - even the vegan 'cheese board'! Fingers crossed that our government will take a more veggie-friendly approach in the future.
