October 2017
Hey Everyone,

It's always fun to announce stuff, so we'll lead with that: I'm glad to let you all know that as of November we're happy to be starting a partnership with the Argentinian publisher Pensar Poker, as they'll be translating a couple of our articles each month into Spanish on their site. Qu
é maravilloso! 😀

I'd also like to give a shout-out to this newsletter's official poker tour sponsor, Next Level Poker, and congratulate them on their first event, which begins on November 5th (click here for more details). Tour founder and WSOP bracelet winner Chris "Fox" Wallace penned an exclusive strategy piece for us about the challenges of making it as a tournament poker professional. Our most popular article of the past month, be sure to check it out.

BBC CALLING...

After five long years, the Phil Ivey Punto Banco "edge sorting" case finally reached the UK Supreme Court. In a unanimous decision, the court upheld previous rulings in which Ivey would not be allowed to claim his millions of pounds in winnings.

I was invited to comment on the verdict in a radio interview broadcast live on the BBC World Service. You can listen here, starting at the 16-minute mark. Following the interview, I published an op-ed with my analysis of the verdict entitled: Cheating vs. Morality: On Poker, Casinos, and Phil Ivey's Bad Beat.

"RUNNING WELL" UPDATE: 1,000 km charity poker challenge

I'm proud to have run 800 km thus far, so we're entering the home stretch. 200km to go and two months left to complete the challenge by the end of 2017.

The challenge is currently slated to deliver over $3,500 in donations to Kids Kicking Cancer and there's still time to join the almost dozen people who've made pledges of support for anywhere between 10-50 cents per kilometer.

If you or the company you work for would like to make a pledge (all monies donated directly by you), please email me.

You're all invited to follow my progress via Twitter at #charitypoker1000km.
