What happens when idealism and pragmatism clash. and the future of a nation hangs in the balance?

Henry James, Bahamian Director of Cultural Affairs, gives a sensational address to the United Nations General Assembly on the anniversary of the abolition of the transatlantic slave trade, embarrassing Mallory King, the Bahamian Prime Minister.

King vows to take his revenge, and sets in motion a plot to destroy James. The instrument of that destruction? Delilah Lockhart, a woman appointed to work closely with James as his Deputy Director.

But the plot backfires, as many plots do.

Small Axe is a new play by Nicolette Bethel.

It premiered at the 2017 Shakespeare in Paradise Theatre Festival on October 2, 2017, featuring Sekani Nash, Jonico Pratt, and Rukenya Nash

It returns for one more performance on November 3, 2017, at 7:30 PM.
