Welcome to 2017 at CTRC!

We are thrilled to write to you at the start of the new year, new term and new possibilities at the CTRC! We give a warm welcome back to our riders and volunteers and big hello to our new members that have joined us this year.

Last year brought some exciting events with the CTRC booth at the Bright Spark Market, adding 'Ready Set Trot' program to our ever expanding services, our show jumping date at the Perth Horse and Pony Club and our wonderful mini-riders who show up to our day camps during the holidays.

We also already have our work boots on to continue improving for this year including more competition opportunities, more ways to communicate with us on social media (including a shiny new website!!), work around our stables and more opportunities to become part of the team.

Inspirational Rider of the Month - Nikita Fozdar

Sharing stories is one of our favourite things to do at the centre, because we get to brag about the wonders we see everyday. As the name would suggest, our 'Inspirational Rider of the Month' is awarded to a CTRC rider who demonstrates outstanding sportsmanship and integrity at our centre. A massive congratulations to Nikita Fozdar for being our first 'Inspirational Rider of the Month' for February.

Nikita is twenty-one years old and comes to us from Shelley. He has been riding with us since the start of Term One 2016 and has quickly become one of the loved characters at CTRC with his bright, to the point and well behaved manor. His carer Kim, reports that he loves coming to CTRC and is obviously very comfortable in our environment.

Nikita says he likes coming to his riding lessons so that he can meet up with all his friends here and also to see his favourite horse, Flash, especially when he can 'go fast'.

We absolutely love the days when Nikita might give a chosen volunteer a hug for helping out!

Achiever of the Month - Immie Marinko

It's always a privilege for us to be able to recognise the hard work of our riders. Each month we will be awarding the 'Achiever of the Month' for riders who demonstrate outstanding fairness and workmanship at our centre. We are proud to introduce our February 'Achiever of the Month', Immie Markino!

" I am 13 years old and I have been riding for 8 years at CTRC now, I have always had a love and passion for horses since I was a little girl. M'liss gave me the opportunity and supported me, in fulfilling my dream of owning a pony. On this journey I have been able to meet all the wonderful people at CTRC, that are now family to me. CTRC has made such a positive impact on my life and I can’t thank everyone there, especially M'liss, enough. Over these past years I have also had the amazing opportunity to be able to volunteer which always makes me smile , I get to be part of leading and talking to the children and see them grow and progress always leaving me with the most joyful experience ever.

I’m one of the luckiest girls ever to have been able to have CTRC in my life and I can’t wait for the future and for everything to come. Thank you to M'liss and the centre as my whole journey would never be possible without them..."

Volunteer of the Month - Jan Coffey

We love to introduce our family to you, so here is our volunteer of the month, Jan, talking about her experience at the centre:

"Having had nothing to do with horses for thirty years, it has been a joy to be able to reconnect with them at CTRC.

I volunteer two days a week, assisting Jo Blomquist with the Ride Therapy program. Watching the delight on the faces of the children who participate is heart warming, and witnessing their increasing confidence and development of skills is inspirational.

The centre provides a warm and embracing atmosphere for all who attend, both riders and volunteers, and my volunteering has certainly enriched my life."

Lend a hand at CTRC

Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organisation and every day all areas of our operations are run by people taking time out of their day to give back. We are looking for more friendly faces to join us at CTRC in a variety or roles.

If anyone is interesting in assisting with general administration, stable duties or becoming a leader in our group sessions, please send us an email at ctrc@bigpond.net.au

Even offering an afternoon or morning shift once a week, can make a big difference in running our centre.
