CISI Chartered Wealth Manager Courses - Frequently Asked Questions

Dear <<First Name>>,

With many people considering which training provider to use for their next Chartered Wealth Manager course, I thought it would be useful to take the opportunity in this newsletter to answer some of the questions we are frequently asked so that you make an informed decision. Results day is just over a week away so now is the time to think carefully about what each provider can offer.

As the only provider offering courses in London, Liverpool and Edinburgh, we also offer the most innovative online resources, the most flexible learning solutions, expert tuition and unrivalled delegate support.

Here are some of the questions we are frequently asked to help you in your decision. Please give me a call on 0203 292 9229 if you have any further questions or would like to book a place on one of our workshops.

Please do pass this newsletter to anyone you know who is planning to take the Chartered Wealth Manager exams.

I look forward to working with you.

Kind regards

Cris

CISI Chartered Wealth Manager Courses - Frequently Asked Questions

How qualified are your tutors?

Our tutors are at the top of the profession. They are frequently invited to speak at CISI events around the UK and contribute to textbooks. They have been examiners, question writers and tutors with a number of professional institutes. Not only are they highly technically qualified with excellent relevant knowledge, everyone who teaches or designs materials also holds appropriate training or teaching qualifications so we know how to impart knowledge in the best way. If you would like to talk to your tutor before you book, please ask us. We know it’s important to have an approachable tutor whom you can work with.

What can we expect from your online resources?

Our learning site was carefully developed using our technical expertise, knowledge about how people learn, our IT professionals and research with our customers. As a result we offer a very simple to use system that gives you the information you want quickly because we know your study time has to be used wisely.

We offer short videos covering some of the more complex parts of the syllabus so that you can access them quickly and watch them in your own time. This is very popular with our delegates and we know it’s a success because other training providers are offering this for the first time in 2017. We don’t mind as our business model and expertise enables us to add anything appropriate our delegates request very quickly so we’ll always have the most up to date materials that our customers want.

The learning site will also provide you with a study plan, slides from the workshops with extra notes, our own mock exams, CISI past papers, additional questions and learning resources. Everything you need to use quickly and easily.

We’ve listened to our customers and for this sitting, we will be providing podcasts too. We are committed to being the most innovative provider.

What are your workshops like?

You will work in a small group with an expert tutor. There will be a maximum of twelve delegates, often less because we want to be able to give each individual the support they need and we want you to feel able to ask questions as we work through the syllabus. There will be tutor input with lots of exercises for you to work on individually and in groups. We’ll also get you answering exam type questions from day one and honing your exam technique so you maximise marks on exam day. From the second workshop, we’ll be giving you questions based on what you have learnt so far so that you’ll be building your knowledge right through the course. Workshops are very interactive, interesting and exam focussed.

How can I get questions answered between workshops?

Simply email your tutor and you will receive an answer within 24 hours. We know your study time is precious and you need answers quickly. Take a look at testimonials on our website to see what our past delegates say about our level of support.

Do you offer mock exams?

Yes and for the first time this sitting we will be offering two mock exams as well as short tests throughout the course. We feel that some people want a second chance at a mock so that they are more prepared for exam day so that’s what we offer. The second mock is taken at work under exam conditions so it doesn’t use valuable workshop time and it replicates exam day as closely as possible.

Can I buy your online course only?

No and there is a very good reason for this. We don’t believe success can be guaranteed at this level without some face-to-face input. Even the most experienced investment professionals need some teaching due to the breadth and depth of each syllabus. Our online materials complement our workshops and provide essential extension tasks to develop your knowledge.

That doesn’t necessarily mean you have to attend a comprehensive course. We offer revision courses or one-to-one support at times to suit you either face-to-face or by Skype. In fact, we have some clients who study with us on a one-to-one basis only because it suits them and it’s priced very reasonably. If the comprehensive course model doesn’t suit you, talk to us and we can plan a learning solution for you at a very competitive price.

Maths isn’t my best subject, does this matter?

You will need to be able to complete a range of mathematical calculations. Working with small groups enables us to help people who find this part of the course more difficult and some people use our one-to-one support as well. However, we know maths can be an issue for some people who have not completed an A Level in Maths or had little maths content in their degree programme so this year we have introduced a two day ‘Maths for Investment Professionals’ course which covers all of the types of calculations in the Chartered Wealth Manager syllabus.

As a Learning and Development Manager, what information do I get about my delegates?

When people are sponsored by their organisation, we keep Learning and Development Managers updated with progress. If we find a person is having difficulty, we contact you to discuss how we can work with you to help. We provide you with a mid-course report for each delegate and a final report with an honest predicted result based on our assessment information.

All of our systems are designed to provide the support needed for success.

I hope this answers any questions you have and shows that we are totally delegate centred in our approach. Our courses are held in London, Liverpool and Edinburgh. We can run in-company courses by arrangement. Course dates are available on our website. Please call us on 0203  292 9229 to reserve a place or to ask any questions you have.
