Dekerf / Godersky Dominate the 2017 Super Bowl Doubles Tournament

Steve Dekerf and Jason Godersky opened with 290 and 279 respectively and took the early lead by 60 pins and never once lost the spot in the entire tournament to win their first Scott's Vending Super Bowl Doubles Tournament.

First place paid $650 plus the $270 Bet-You-Win pot for a $920 payday.

In the finals, Steve / Jason defeated Sheboygan Hall of Fame members Wes Schmitz and Steve Steinpreis who were looking to repeat as champions as they won the event last year that you can read about here. Wes / Steve received $500 for second place.

The championship match started with an exciting 289 - 256 shootout including the first 10 strikes from DeKerf/Godersky, before settling in to the final 533 - 456 score.

On their way to the finals, Steve / Jason defeated #4 Mike Nett / Phil Cummings 429 - 424 while Wes / Steve defeated #3 Cody Krahn / Josh Bauer 460 - 423. Cody / Josh / Mike / Phil all received $350 for their 3rd place tie finish

In other action, Mike / Phil defeated #8 Jay Larson / Chris VanAkkeren 452 - 424 and in their previous match Jay / Chris upset #5 Eric Pierson / Jeff Shircel 450 - 389. Jay / Chris received $280 while Eric / Jeff received $210.

On the other side of the bracket, Cody / Josh defeated #6 Mike Walters / Steve Richter 462 - 379 and in their previous match Mike / Steve defeated #7 Eric Otte / Mark Liermann 461 - 447. Mike / Steve received $280 while Eric / Mark received $210.

Cody Eickberg Leaps to the Lead of the Roto Grip Bowler of the Year Competition

After a solid qualifying score of 690 and gaining a healthy number of points at the Super Bowl Doubles Tournament, Cody Eickberg has opened up a 20 point lead over Jeremy Johnson and a 29 point lead over Mark Liermann in the Roto Grip Bowler of the Year competition.

This season, the Bowler of the Year competition prizes were spread out to the top 3 places that receive:

1st - Roto Grip Bowling Ball, 3-ball tote bag, and jersey
2nd - Roto Grip 3-ball tote bag and jersey
3rd - Roto Grip Jersey

With two events still on the horizon the competition is up for grabs - especially with 100 bonus points being awarded to those who bowl in all 5 events.

The Galactic Fab 5 Baker Team Tournament is set for Saturday, February 25th.

There are still openings in this event and you can get in on it by reaching out to Erick at 920/467-3578 to hold your spot.

Last Event of the Year - Holiday Classic Rescheduled to April 1st

Due to the snow-out from December 17th, the Holiday Classic has been rescheduled for April 1st.

It is our understanding there are a few teams that cannot make the reschedule date so there are openings. To claim a spot in the event, contact Scott at 377-0139 to hold a spot.

This event will decide the Roto Grip Bowler of the Year points listing. If you are close to winning the prize, be sure you get a team spot and fill it so you give yourself the best chance to win.
