Hello Village Residents,
This newsletter is a quick reminder to have your say on the overnight parking issue that has been an ongoing concern in our community.
 
The town of Niagara-on-the-Lake sent Village residents a Parking Survey in January.  You may have received it in your mail or at your door.  The town is asking for our input on possible permit options to allow overnight parking on our streets, which is currently not allowed within the town. 
 
The survey is the result of months of advocacy by your Village Community Association and John Hawley working with the town council and in particular Town Councillor Betty Didero. 
 
We have been asking the town to consider the Village for an exception to the town bylaws because the new urbanism and historical influences of our unique community didn’t include additional parking areas.  Therefore street parking is the only option for our overnight guests. 
 
We are hoping with the support of Village residents the town will implement a convenient permitting system allowing short term overnight parking for village visitors.
