Dear Friend,

Random Acts of Kindness Week

This Sunday sees the start of Random Acts of Kindness Week. It is a week-long celebration of people all over the world coming together to take part in small acts to make the world a kinder place.

Our work is only possible thanks to the many volunteers, fundraisers, donors and staff who work tirelessly throughout the year providing support and showing kindness to those struggling in difficult circumstances.

Throughout the week we will be sharing stories of kindness, and we hope you will join us and share your acts of kindness too.
Small acts transform lives

One source of inspiration for us comes from 11-year-old Katherine. She asked her Uncle to donate some of her college fund to help support people who are struggling.
We hope Katherine will inspire you to get involved.

We'd love to hear about acts of kindness you or others show throughout the week. Share your story with us on Twitter @TrussellTrust,  making sure to include #RandomActsOfKindnessDay
Can you take part in our 40 for 40 challenge?

Lent is traditionally a time of reflection, where people choose to give up something to mark the occasion. This Lent we are asking people if they will give up 40 pence for the 40 days of Lent to help us continue to support Foodbanks all over the UK support for people in crisis.

For some of us 40 pence a day isn’t much to give up, it’s not even the price of a bar of chocolate these days, but this small act of kindness really can transform lives.
How to take part

Taking part it easy, simply find an old jam jar, or similar container and start collecting!

At the end of Lent you can pay in your collection by cheque or online via our website. To find out more click here.

Remember to let us know if you’ll be taking part in #40for40
Nicest Job in Britain - a week at The Trussell Trust

A couple of weeks ago we had a visit from Alice, she has been taking part in the Nicest Job in Britain initiative, helping 40 charities in 40 weeks.
Alice came to spend some time shadowing staff and volunteers across the Trust's to find out more about what we do and how we support people in times of crisis.

Read about Alice's time with us in her blog.
