Twee weken geleden hoorden we dat de Encyclopedia of Embroidery in the Arab World (Bloomsbury 2016), onder redactie van onze directrice Gillian Vogelsang-Eastwood, de prestigieuze Darthmouth Medal had gewonnen.
Nu ontvingen we het heuglijke nieuws dat aan hetzelfde boek ook een van de PROSE Awards van de Association of American Publishers/Professional and Scholarly Publishing Division is toegekend.
Zoals ze het zelf stellen, genereren de PROSE Awards jaarlijks aandacht voor de beste professionele en wetenschappelijke publicaties door boeken, tijschriften en electronische content in 53 categorieën te eren met een onderscheiding.
Onze encyclopedie heeft de award gewonnen in de categorie single volume reference/ humanities & social sciences (een-delige handboeken geestes- en sociale wetenschappen)

Two weeks ago we received the news that the Encyclopedia of Embroidery in the Arab World (Bloomsbury 2016), edited by Gillian Vogelsang-Eastwood, had won the prestigious 2017 Dartmouth Medal.
Now we are informed that the same book also received one of the 2017 PROSE Awards of the Association of American Publishers/Professional and Scholarly Publishing Division.
As they put it themselves, the PROSE Awards annually recognize the very best in professional and scholarly publishing by bringing attention to distinguished books, journals, and electronic content in 53 categories.
Our encyclopedia was named the winner in the category single volume reference/ humanities & social sciences
