CDFA Farm Bill Listening Sessions

CDFA Secretary Karen Ross to host Fam Bill Listening Sessions - Seeking Public Comments on California's Agricultural Priorities

The 2018 Farm Bill Listening Sessions are a public forum allowing individuals input on California’s priorities for the upcoming farm bill. Provided comments will be used to help develop recommendations on the farm bill that will be shared with California’s Congressional delegation and the leadership of the Senate and House agricultural committees.

Thunderbird Robotics Team
High School Students Need Donations

They are a high school FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) team from Butte County, California. They aspire to promote STEM education in our community through various outreach programs and through the hands on learning environment of FRC. This county wide team is based at Las Plumas High School with members from high schools throughout Butte County.

They do not receive district funding and are in the process of raising money to purchase a trailer that will allow them to transport their equipment to completions.  The team has set up a Go Fund Me page and is accepting donations now

Regional Agritourism Summits
The University of California Small Farm Program and UC Cooperative Extension advisors in four California regions are working with local partners to organize Regional Agritourism Summits for everyone involved in California agritourism. The Summits will be occasions for farmers, ranchers, county planners, the tourism community and others involved to share, learn, and plan together.

The nearest summit is in Davis on Monday, February 13

Lake Oroville Morning Nature Walks are guided walks of about four easy miles exploring the local wildlife area. Meet at the Lake Oroville Visitor Center just before 9:00 am and are usually done by noon. For a complete schedule click here.
Save BIG with a 2017 Season Pass - If you regularly use the Forebay Aquatic Center, consider getting a season pass for all-inclusive access to all equipment rentals. Buy before Memorial day for early pricing.
