TOASTMASTERS' TIDBIT!
Timeliness -- Wasted time is one of the most abused aspects of our lives. Most of us do not like to have time wasted.
Toastmaster meetings provide ample opportunity to improve our timeliness skills. The timeliness extends beyond staying within speech time limits. Members strive to come early to ensure the meeting starts on time. The Table Topics Master verifies the number of speakers/speech lengths to determine how many topics to present.
The Toastmaster of the Day keeps the meeting moving to ensure it ends on time. The General Evaluator may skip reports or ask the Evaluators to give a shortened evaluation if the meeting is running late. All to ensure we stay on schedule.
Starting on time, Staying on time, Ending on time. Worthy goals for all of us.
