Quentin McDougall 50-64 Age Handicap Singles
Saturday January 28th

The Quentin McDougall 50-64 age Handicap Singles was played at HRTC last Saturday where two round robin groups battled it out for 2017 honours. Group 1 on Saturday morning could have been won by all of the participants as matches went down to the wire throughout the morning. Michelle Moores came out victor though in the end - winning her group by the narrowest of margins. Results as follows:

Group 2 on Saturday afternoon saw Peter Burnett, Johnson Koay and Bob Brewer go head to head - with more close matches being the order of the day. Johnson Koay was in fine form winning both of his matches and taking out group 2. Results as follows:

The final between Michelle Moores and Johnson Koay had Johnson giving away a large handicap - but his particularly nasty underarm twist and some great concentration got him over the line - winning the match 8/2. Well done to both our finalists and congratulations Johnson!

Quentin McDougall 65+ Age Handicap Singles
Sunday January 29th

The second half of the Quentin McDougall Masters event for age group 65+ was played last Sunday with another two round robin groups taking to the court to decide our victor. Group A saw Cas Pitt in great form winning all three of his matches in exemplary fashion and heading off to play a final later in the day.

Group B was played on Sunday afternoon with Sally Rackham ending as the inform player and taking out the group after winning her three matches.

The final between Cas Pitt and Sally Rackham saw some great tennis - but it was Cas that continued his fine form - winning the match and taking out the event with an 8/5 win. Congrats Cas!

HRTC Handicap Singles

This Sunday, HRTC will be running a round robin handicap singles event between 9am and 1pm. Anyone can enter and the morning should be heaps of fun! Call Brett at the Club use the link provided below - or sign up on the board displayed at the Club.

On Court Attire

HRTC members are urged to consider the Club's predominately white clothing policy while on court. Predominately white clothing is a traditional part of our game and one that makes a nice point of difference compared to the majority of other sports. It is a requirement at this Club and all other Real Tennis Clubs worldwide. If you need to equip yourself with some more predominately white gear - please ask Brett or Pat at the Club to help you out.

Come and and get your tiki on in the balmy South Seas on Friday February 3 from 5.00pm onwards. Wear your best Hawaiian shirt, grass skirt and get set to party.

February 6th - HRTC Club Championship commencement

February 18/19th - Widmer-Bradfield Cup

Hobart's top players take on the best Ballarat has to offer when we clash for our annual Widmer-Bradfield Challenge. Four best of five set singles matches and two best of five set doubles matches will be played over the course of the weekend - with a tournament dinner to be held at the Club on the Saturday night. For those of you keen to see Hobart's finest in action - check out this weekend! We wish our entire team all the very best for the event....

February 25/26 - HRTC Class 7 Doubles 2017 (Handicaps 70+)

HRTC's Class 7 Doubles Club Championships will be held at the Club on February 25/26. All HRTC members with handicaps 70 and above are encouraged to sign up for the event - which we plan to make most enjoyable for all who choose to play. Players may find their own partner - or have one chosen for them. Call the Club or use the link below to join in the action:

Our first morning A Grade pennant was played this week with the "Dawn Destroyers" taking out the "Non Hazardous Markers" 2 matches to 1.
