Pathways—A New Discipleship Program

In the last three years, our church has done something called Rooted, a catalyst for spiritual growth. We’re so thankful for all the powerful transformation with the help of this program. In a desire to move us forward, we’ve chosen to create our own experience called Pathways. This discipleship program is an interactive, small group discovery and rediscovery of many essential truths of following Christ. We intentionally want to upgrade what Rooted provided in four particular ways.

For All Walks of Life

Rooted has incredible impact on those who are new to faith or curious about God. But in reality, we are all on a path of grace. Some of us have walked with God along time, some of us are new, but we have so much more to learn about the unconditional love of Jesus and from one another’s stories. Pathways is designed to help us all become aware of where we are on the path because God is never done with us.

A Focus on Local Service

In Rooted we dedicated one week to a local service experience. In Pathways, we commit to serving locally as well as praying for others and specific local service opportunities every week . . .

Congregational Meeting Recap

On Sunday, January 29, we had our first Family Meeting of the new year. We began our meeting with an incredible God-at-work story from Bambi Encarnacion and that seemed to set the stage for a very encouraging time together. We were introduced to some new staff members and heard some encouraging news on Ears to Hear and Christmas Blvd. The congregation was updated on our finances, the elder nomination process and of course the much anticipated Senior Pastor search.

We also enjoyed some prayer together and as always an opportunity for the congregation to speak with the elders and staff afterwards while “breaking bread” (pizza) together. We hope you enjoy the opportunity to catch up if you could not be there or listen again to the great work that God is doing in our midst. To Him be the Glory! (Watch the video below and see the slides here.)

Search Process Prayer

Please continue to join us in praying for "5 min. @ 5:00" (either am or pm) about our pastoral search. Search Committee Chair Dan Reyneveld let us know that they've narrowed the field to four possibles and are currently scheduling meetings with those men, getting to know them, asking and answering questions and determining level of interest in this position. Pray for wisdom, clarity, consensus and the so-obvious leading of the Holy Spirit.

The Measure of a Man Workshop Recap

On Saturday, January 28 we were blessed to have nearly 200 men gather for a time of encouragement and teaching from Dr. Gene Getz. Gene imparted to us the insight he has gained over the years in his book The Measure of a Man. The book, newly updated with QR codes that lead to a video for each chapter, had us consider 20 attributes of a godly man. We spent our morning together walking through some of the passages in Scripture that speak about what a mature man in the family of God looks like. Each man left encouraged and challenged to consider how he can continue growing into maturity in Christ. We look forward to continuing to see all that God has for the men of our church in the year ahead.
