What's been going on?

Heavy lifting... We rolled up our sleeves in January and formed an orderly line to unload a lorry full of brand new baby items donated by Newell Brands. We unloaded over 100 items including full travel systems, high chairs and travel cots. Read more and see the donation picture here.

Children In Need... We found out late 2016 our bid to Children in Need was successful and in the spring we look forward to welcoming two new staff to work directly with children and young people in refuge at The Haven. The project will include 1-2-1 therapies and a range of group activities to improve wellbeing and support integration with others.

Case Study

This month's case study looks at Dee's case.

Dee came to us for support after her partner was physically and emotionally abusive.

Her case was particularly high-risk and we follow her story, looking at her experiences and the support she received from The Haven.

To read the full case study follow this link to Dee's Story.

Volunteers

A big thank you to all our volunteers, students, trainee counsellors and peer mentors for your hard work, commitment and ongoing support.

In particular we bid an emotional farewell to our EVS placements. These volunteers came through the Erasmus+ European Voluntary Service and have been supporting our front-line and support services for a year. We are extremely grateful for their support and we will miss them as they move onto pastures new!

Whilst we're sad to say goodbye, we look forward to welcoming 10 new EVS placements in March.
