A guided meditation from
Orot Cofounder
Sam Feinsmith

During these challenging times for our nation, our fear and outrage may drive us to act by organizing and speaking truth to power.  Commendable though this impulse may be, if we do so from a place of unchecked anger, hatred, self-righteousness, or the tendency to demonize anyone who doesn't share our views, we are likely to add fuel to the fire and makes things worse.

Instead, we can turn inward to face our inner tyrant with honesty and kindness so that we might transform its energy into the energy of compassion.  Once grounded in compassion and the power of the expansive heart, we are more likely to act in a measured way with enough discernment to support genuine healing and transformation. This brief teaching and guided meditation uses wisdom from this week's portion--Bo--to support us to go inside and cultivate this capacity.  It's 20 minutes long.
