Following the opening reception taking place at The Rooms this evening, Eastern Edge is excited to be hosting the official AFTER PARTY!
Join us anytime from 9:30 PM onward for a night of socializing, merriment, and KARAOKE!

~There will be fabulous pink flamingo-inspired cocktails~

Bonavista Getaway Raffle draw will be at midnight!

Free to attend, all are welcome.
We will being having a Karaoke prize! That's right, you could win the fabulous Flamingos butt. Contestants will be given marks out of 10 in the following categories:
Original Interpretation (for your style both vocally and visually)
Shaken Tail Feathers ( for dancing)
Audience outreach (work that crowd)

Featuring works by John Boyle-Singfield, Tammi Campbell, Liza Eurich, Louise Lawler, John Marriott, Jennifer Marman & Daniel Borins, Ken Nicol, Jon Sasaki, and John Wood & Paul Harrison.

Exhibition organized and circulated by the Art Museum at the University of Toronto and made possible in part by a grant from the Ontario Arts Council’s National and International Touring Program, and the support of the Canada Council for the Arts.

Artists Meredith Carruthers and Susannah Wesley use archival images, sound, and berry-dyed fabrics to reflect on the folklore connecting berry-picking and otherworldly experiences.

Featuring works by Stephen Brace, Adam David Brown, Sara Cwynar, David Harper, Ursula Johnson, Maryse Larivière, Rhonda Pelley, Benny Nemerofsky Ramsay, Charles Stankievech, Yinka Shonibare MBE, D’Arcy Wilson, and artists from The Rooms Permanent Collection.

A flamingo shot in Newfoundland in 1977, now held in the collection of The Rooms, is the starting point for this poetic contemporary art exhibition that explores connections between collecting and colonization, and the politics of inclusion and exclusion.
