Advertising for foster carers

Look out for our new TV advert encouraging residents to become foster carers which launched on Sky TV this week. The minute long advert is a short animation highlighting how important a foster carer could be to a young person’s life. The video is also available on our YouTube channel and will be promoted via our Twitter and Facebook accounts too.

February half-term fun

Keep the kids busy over half-term week (13-17 February) with some fantastic activities for all ages across the borough.

For most of the activities taking place, you can just turn up on the day, but for some activities you need to register in advance. Make sure you check the activity details and contact the right person or organisation.

For more information on the activities, dates, venue and costs, view our February activity booklet (PDF, 309KB).

Eloise scoops praise for dog mess letter

She’s only five, but Eloise Charnock had a meeting with councillors this week – as they thanked her for writing to them about dog fouling.

Eloise wrote: “Sorry to disturb you, what are you going to do about the poo on the way to Lordship Lane Primary? Lots of love, Eloise.”

Woodside councillors Cllr Ann Waters, Cllr Charles Wright and Cllr Peter Mitchell and Cabinet member for Environment Peray Ahmet gave her a toy dog as a thank you. New signs have been put up and the area is being patrolled.
